With Nicecast you can broadcast music from your Mac.

Downloading & Installation


You can download it from this link: http://nicecast.softonic.fr/mac
Once it is downloaded just double click to start installation. Accept the requests and click on next to install.
Once Nicecast is installed, double click on it to open it.
Settings
Once Nicecast is installed, start it. You will need to adjust the settings before you can broadcast on your Radio Server. To do this, click on the 'Window' menu at the top of your screen and then the sub-menu 'Show Server'.
Then click on the Plus (+) button to add a personalized server. Click on the circle next to the newly created server (Untitled Server) to select it. Now you need to add some more information.
To find this information you need to go to your manager and click on 'Live'. Here you will find all the information you need to set up Nicecast.
Once you have correctly filled in the form you can close the window - you've set up your server on Nicecast.
Nicecast doesn't need a user name, just a password that must be in the form username:password.
NB : use your own log in details from your manager's Direct menu, and not those from the example.

Beginning broadcasting

Once you have set up the program you can begin to use it to broadcast on your radio.

  • Broadcasting from an application (Application): with this option you can directly broadcast the sound from an application. So, for example, you can broadcast your iTunes or Spotify playlists.
  • Broadcasting from audio input (Audio Device): with this option you can broadcast from an audio input. For example, you can use your computer's microphone, or an external microphone plugged into your computer.
  • Broadcasting your computer's sound (System Audio): with this option you can broadcast all the sounds being played on your computer. This option is not recommended.

  2. Set any application as your source in Audio Hijack, then hit the record button to save its audio! Grab Device Audio. Audio Hijack can also capture and record audio from microphones, mixers, and other input devices. Get System Audio. Use the System Audio source.

Nicecast was a widely used Mac radio broadcasting software with a really easy to use interface. Unfortunately, it has now been discontinued. It will still be supported on MacOS 10.10 to 10.13 up until the end of 2018. To select your source type, click on the 'Source' drop down menu and choose your source, then click on 'Select' to select the source you want to use for the broadcast.


Now Nicecast is configured for your Radio Server, all you have to do is broadcast. To do that, click on the 'Start Broadcast' button.
Once you are connected the 'State' button will be 'On Air'.
